CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS

CONTEST THEMES
Art projects may be based on anything Jewish.

Essay and poetry entries must be based on one of the following topics.
  1. The importance of giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Please tell us a story (fact or fiction) that will illustrate your point.
  2. What do you think other kids your age worry about the most? What advice can you offer them?
  3. When have you felt the most close to G-d?

CONTEST CATEGORIES
Art -- Not to exceed 18” x 24” in size
Essay -- Under 500 words, typed and double spaced.
Poetry -- Must be typed. Not to exceed 2 pages in length.
PRIZES
Ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, as well as honorable mentions. In addition, all winners will receive a free pass to The Mid-Atlantic Jewish Food & Life Expo, where their work will be displayed. A special Award Ceremony & Reception will also take place at the Expo. This year, the Jewish Expo will be held on Sunday, December 16th at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.

AGE GROUPS
Entries will be divided into three groups: Grades 3–4, Grades 5–6 and
Grades 7–8.

ENTRIES
All entries must be received by October 31st, 2007, and must be accompanied by a title, student’s name, address, phone number, school and grade level on BACK of their work (only the student's name may appear on the front). All entries become the sole property of The Jewish Expo and might not be eligible for return.
